Frequently Asked Questions
What is a rolled curb, and do I really need a curb ramp for it?
A rolled curb is a street curb with a sloped transition from the road to your driveway or lawn. While they help municipalities with water drainage and eliminate the need for driveway cutouts, they can cause a jarring bump every time you enter or exit your driveway. A curb ramp smooths out this transition, making the ride comfortable and protecting your vehicle's undercarriage from damage.
Will scraping my car on a rolled curb cause permanent damage?
Yes. That scraping sound or jolting motion is doing real damage. Repeatedly bottoming out on a rolled curb can damage your front bumper, air splitter, exhaust system, and undercarriage. Over time, the daily impact can even misalign your suspension and cause premature tire wear. A driveway curb ramp prevents scraping and reduces the chance of costly repairs.
How do I stop my lowered car from scraping the driveway?
If you drive a sports car or a vehicle with low ground clearance, you might try entering the driveway at a sharp angle to avoid scraping. However, this isn't always safe or practical, especially on busy streets. The best solution is installing a driveway curb ramp. It reduces the approach angle, giving your front end the clearance it needs to glide into the driveway without bottoming out.
Can I build a DIY curb ramp out of wood, steel, or concrete?
Building a DIY ramp out of wood, steel, or concrete may seem like a fun weekend project, but these materials have major drawbacks. Wood rots, splinters, and floats away in the rain. Steel is incredibly heavy and will eventually rust. Poured concrete is often illegal because it permanently alters municipal property and blocks street drainage, causing localized flooding. A BRIDJIT recycled rubber curb ramp is durable, weather-resistant, and non-permanent.
Are rubber curb ramps strong enough for heavy vehicles like RVs and motorhomes?
Absolutely. If you own an RV, camper, or motorhome, rolling over a steep driveway curb can damage the suspension or violently rattle your interior. High-quality rubber curb ramps like BRIDJIT are designed to support tens of thousands of pounds, making them the perfect shock absorber for your heavy rig. Each section weighs roughly 50 pounds, and when bolted together, a standard 3-piece set is about 12 feet long and creates a massive 150+ pound structure. This immense dead weight, combined with the grip of the rubber, ensures the ramps stay firmly in place - even when heavy trucks drive over them.
Do I need to drill into the concrete or asphalt to install them?
No, and in most neighborhoods, drilling into the street is prohibited. BRIDJIT ramps are designed to rest securely in the curb without any permanent anchors. The individual sections bolt together, creating a heavy, stable unit that relies on gravity and friction to stay exactly where you left it.
Will a driveway curb ramp block water drainage in the street gutter?
Not if you choose the right one. BRIDJIT curb ramps feature a built-in channel underneath the ramp. This design allows rainwater, leaves, and standard street debris to flow freely underneath, preventing puddles and keeping you fully compliant with local water runoff regulations.
Are BRIDJIT curb ramps theft-proof?
While nothing left outside is 100% theft-proof, BRIDJIT ramps are hard to remove without drawing a lot of attention. Once bolted together, a standard set is around 12 feet long and weighs approx 150 pounds. Trying to quickly lift and load a 12-foot, 150-pound rubber mass into a getaway truck is a task most thieves won't even bother attempting.
Is it legal to install a curb ramp in my neighborhood?
In most municipalities and HOA-governed neighborhoods, removable rubber curb ramps are perfectly legal because they don't permanently alter the roadway and they allow for proper water drainage. Unlike poured concrete or asphalt patches, which can result in citations, BRIDJIT ramps provide a compliant, temporary-yet-permanent-feeling solution. (We always recommend double-checking your specific local ordinances or HOA rules before ordering, just in case.)
How long do rubber driveway curb ramps last?
Because they are made in the USA from recycled tire rubber, BRIDJIT curb ramps are built to endure the same harsh conditions as your vehicle's tires. They withstand extreme heat, freezing cold, UV rays, and the immense weight of daily traffic without cracking, crumbling, or rusting. With proper care, they will protect your vehicles for many years.
How wide should my curb ramp setup be?
Your curb ramp should be wide enough that you don't have to worry about aiming your wheels every time you come home. A standard BRIDJIT 3-piece set covers about 12 feet, which is ideal for most single-car driveways. For double-wide driveways, wide-turning RVs, or trailers, you can easily purchase extra center sections to extend your coverage.
What types of vehicles need a driveway curb ramp?
While every driver will appreciate the elimination of that annoying daily jolt, curb ramps are absolute game-changers for sports cars, lowered vehicles, RVs, classic cars, heavy-duty work trucks, and vehicles towing boats or trailers.

Easily assembled and placed, work splendidly to smooth a sharp bump into a gentle glide.
Holes for bolts are so crooked that the bolt digs into the ramp. Not bad for security because of no nut on the bolt but they are together; may hinder long term? Tried prying bolt with two people and couldnt budge it outta the ramp to get the nut on
They work great, just quality control was lacking that day. 4 of 5 for that reason
Great product, excellent communication! Thank you!
